Squibs Present: Chloe Forbes & Chromatic

Fresh off their hit show at the Black Bear Lodge, Squibs are bringing their eclectic style of original jazz/funk fusion to the Cave Inn. Supporter by Lurissa Master’s CHROMATIC and Chloe Forbes. Together, the three acts are bringing together a night of incredible groove and intense feeling.

Squibs are a Jazz fusion band led by Ipswich based musician Mitch Bell, featuring Ethan Coleman, Charlie Green and Harold Brysen-Dean. Drawing inspiration from bands andmusicians such as The Head Hunters, John Scofield, Casiopea and Alfa Mist, Squibs blend the hard hitting grooves of funk and rock with the excitement of jazz improvisation and harmony.

With regular performances at iconic Brisbane venues such as The Bearded Lady, Can You Keep a Secret, Black Bear Lodge and Ipswich’s Banshees Bar & Art Space, Squibs have established themselves as a mainstay of the Brisbane Jazz/Funk scene.

Chloe Forbes (she/they) is a jazz saxophonist, interdisciplinary artist, feminist, LGBTQIA+ advocate, and researcher based in Meanjin (Brisbane).
Their evolving creative practice explores the intersectionality of music and textiles through original performance artworks.
Chloe is also the creator/director of Jazz For All (jazzforallqld), an initiative that aims to create community connections and career opportunities for female identifying, non-binary, and LGBTQIA+ jazz musicians in Queensland.
